Osteopathy

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a manual therapy that emphasizes the body’s interconnectedness and its ability to heal itself. It focuses on the musculoskeletal system and its relationship with other body systems to improve overall health and well-being.

It offers a holistic and manual approach to healthcare that focuses on restoring the body’s natural ability to heal itself. It can be a valuable option for individuals seeking relief from musculoskeletal pain, improved mobility, and overall well-being.

Denise specializes in clients who feel “stuck”, whether it’s persistent pain that hasn’t responded to traditional methods, chronic tension patterns, or energy that feels depleted or misaligned. Her sessions are deeply restorative and uniquely tailored, helping the body release held patterns, improve circulation, and return to a more balanced, grounded state.

Her treatments go far beyond traditional massage or musculoskeletal adjustments. She listens through her hands, working with the nervous system, fascia, and energetic blocks to unwind deep-rooted patterns that may be holding pain, fatigue, or emotional tension.

Therapeutic Osteopathic Massage

This treatment blends advanced massage therapy with osteopathic principles to address chronic pain, mobility restrictions, postural imbalances, and long-standing patterns of tension within the body.

Unlike traditional deep tissue massage, this approach does not rely on aggressive pressure or force. Instead, Denise uses her Functional Assessment System™ and Tissue Melting™ approach to identify the primary restrictions affecting the body’s overall function. By working with the nervous system, fascia, joints, and soft tissues, deeper layers of tension can often be accessed without excessive discomfort.

Clients frequently describe the treatment as both deep and gentle. Rather than forcing tissues to release, the goal is to create the conditions that allow the body to let go of protective holding patterns naturally.

Depending on the individual’s needs, treatment may also incorporate Shockwave Therapy, Laser Therapy, cupping, myofascial release, joint mobilization, and other osteopathic techniques. These tools are selected to support healthy fluid movement, circulation, tissue repair, and overall function.

The goal is not simply to turn off pain signals. The goal is to improve the environment in which healing occurs. By encouraging blood flow, fluid exchange, immune activity, and healthy tissue movement, the body is given the resources it needs to create meaningful and lasting change.

This treatment is particularly effective for individuals who feel stuck. Whether you are preparing for surgery, recovering from injury, struggling with chronic pain, or have reached a plateau with other therapies, the goal is to identify and address the underlying patterns that may be preventing progress. Long-standing headaches, neck pain, low back pain, shoulder pain, hip pain, knee pain, and postural imbalances are among the most common reasons patients seek this approach.

Designed for those looking for more than temporary relief, these sessions focus on restoring function, improving movement, and helping the body regain its capacity to heal and adapt.

What your treatment includes:
Instead of offering a menu of services, Denise charges a single, all-inclusive price. This is because the treatment plan often shifts in real time when working intuitively and clinically. The body can respond quickly, and sometimes unexpectedly, requiring a change in direction mid-session. Think of it like a game of Jenga: remove the wrong block too early, and the whole system reacts. Denise adjusts as needed to support both your short- and long-term goals.
She may incorporate any of the following into your session, based on what your body presents:

You can expect Denise to address what you came in for, and often, what your body has been asking for under the surface. Every session is tailored in-the-moment and designed to support structural alignment, nervous system regulation, and functional healing.

She also works well as part of a collaborative care team and welcomes communication with your other health providers when appropriate. The body is dynamic, and healing often works best when everyone is on the same page.
